Student of the Month: Ruthie Griffin Shines Through Faith and Friendship
Seventh grader Ruthie Griffin has been named 皇冠体育官网’s Middle School Student of the Month, and it’s easy to see why. Ruthie’s positive spirit, leadership, and kindness make her a standout both in and out of the classroom.
This fall, Ruthie ran with the middle school cross country team, showing the same dedication and perseverance that she brings to all she does. With cross country season behind her, she’s now serving as the secretary of the House of Caritas, helping organize house events and encouraging her classmates. Looking ahead, Ruthie is excited to join the middle school soccer and tennis teams in the spring—after taking a well-deserved winter break.
When asked what she loves most about 皇冠体育官网, Ruthie doesn’t hesitate:
I really like how we get to worship God here,” she says. “And I love how we get to be outside a lot. At my old school, we didn’t have that privilege, and I just really enjoy it. Sometimes I take it for granted, but it’s so nice to be able to soak it up.
Ruthie’s faith is evident in the way she treats others. Teachers and peers alike notice how she takes time to pray for her teammates, write encouraging notes, and make others feel valued.
“People have done that for me before,” Ruthie shares. “It made me feel so loved—by them and by Christ. I want to make someone else’s day the way they made mine.”
Her English teacher, Mrs. Holly Scott, says Ruthie’s leadership shines in every setting.
She shows leadership in all of these areas in the most encouraging ways," says Mrs. Scott. "She sends motivational messages to her teammates before each meet—completely her own idea—and prays faithfully for her classmates. Even after she was injured in cross country, she still came to every practice and meet to encourage her teammates. She remembers prayer requests, checks in with friends, and writes the most uplifting emails as Caritas House secretary. She’s a great student, and I’m so proud of her!
Her House Advisor, Mrs. Caroline Wilhelm, agrees that Ruthie’s contributions make a big impact.
“Ruthie has been doing a fantastic job as the Caritas House Secretary,” Mrs. Wilhelm says. “She is very attentive at our officer meetings and asks good questions. She’s prompt in responding to and sending out emails—which is one of her main jobs as secretary—and she shows a lot of house spirit and pride. She truly wants everyone in her house to do well.”
Ruthie is also quick to express gratitude for her teachers.
“They’re all very welcoming and loving,” she says. “If I don’t understand something, they help me dive deeper. I really love that.”
With her joyful attitude, servant heart, and strong faith, Ruthie is an example of what it means to live out 皇冠体育官网’s mission—to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory. Congratulations, Ruthie, on being named Student of the Month!
